Children's Ministries
Children's Church
Each Sunday, Mt. Zion offers a special time, during the worship service, when our children gather for their own special time for learning about and worshiping God. Dedicated adult leaders oversee this ministry, which is open to children 4 years old through 5th grade.
Handing out Blessing Bags to Adults
During a recent Worship Service, the children of the church honored the adults by handing out Blessing Bags. The mix of snack foods represented the symbols of Thanksgiving: Bugles as cornucopias, the corn of plenty, pretzels as arms folded in prayer, candy corn to remind us that the Pilgrims rationed only a few kernels of corn because food was so scarce, seeds as a promise of a future harvest, fruit as a reminder of the harvest gifts from God's hand, M&Ms for the sweet memories of those who came before us and Hershey's kisses as a reminder of the love of family and friends.

Mt. Zion offers many different opportunities in Christian fellowship and ministries geared toward late teens and young adults, 9th grade through high school.
Children ages Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to be a part of Mt. Zion's Junior Youth Group. The group celebrates in Christian fellowship each month through Bible lessons and trips in the community. Past Junior Youth activities have included fishing, picnics, snow tubing, tubing down the river, skating, bowling, and much more. Junior Youth also participates in service projects such as Operation Christmas Child and food or clothing donations. Group activities are led by Leeanne Hayes and Elicia Knight. Parents of Junior Youth members also play a large role in Junior Youth activities. |
Adult Small Group Ministries:
Certified Lay Speakers
This ministry is for those who have a desire, and the ability, to speak God’s Word at church services, who take special preparatory classes, and receive certification by The United Methodist Church. Mt. Zion (and other United Methodist Churches) routinely call on those certified as Lay Speakers to preside over and speak at worship services.
The Volunteer Efforts of the Men and Women of Mt. Zion
